The Live Science Centre is in the lower part of Sintra and occupies the former powerhouse and depot for the Sintra tram system. The museum's focus examines the themes of biology (the human body), physics and water in motion, utilising interactive, hands-on exhibitions. The exhibits attempt to excite our senses with such displays as asking which is scarier: a large hairy spider or a rollercoaster ride. Perhaps riding a bicycle on a wire five metres off the ground floats your boat? You can also find interactive displays outside powered by water and sunlight. Besides the museum, there's a cybercafé with free internet access and a science workshop.
